When will you take the next step to create a new path?
I would like you now to use your vivid imagination to imagine now a large open field of untouched and long green grass …,… picture the day exactly as you wish….and picture the field exactly as you wish also…..the grass is about waist height… long and thin… as far as the eye can see…
Imagine yourself now in this scene at the edge of this large open field… as you stand at the edge of this tall green grass..…reach out and touch the grass….notice how it feels…soft and cool… hear and feel a gentle breeze … a slight russelling of the grass…..as you look around you notice other tracks through the grass… leading off into the distance…..these are old paths...well worn… created by habits of following the same way over and over….
Today you decide to create a new path.
Trust yourself...take a big deep breath and say …enough is enough… and take the first step to start walking through the long… soft green grass…finding your way through….walking further and further…unsure of where it ends…parting the grass in front of you with your hands….hearing the sound of your feet as they tread over the fallen grass behind you…take a moment and look back…you will notice a very distinct pathway you have made through the long tall grass…. moving ahead now…you feel as though you are getting to the end… as you part the last of the long grass you find yourself in a clearing…free… perhaps beginning to feel calm and somewhat inspired…
at first it seems difficult…however after you travel the path the first time…and keep using it… it becomes much more easy for you to follow… and as you keep using this path…the other less helpful path…grows over and disappears…. leaving only well-worn path of resilience and strength…
.. today you choose to make a pathway through this field…one that better serves you throughout your day… one that better serves you in the future… I am now making my own way...
